Chinese paper production capacity ranks first in the world

The state information center chief economic normal Jianping said: in 2008 China's paper industry total industrial output value reached 457100000000 yuan,a huge GDP1.5%, on the upstream and downstream industries pulling effect.

The speaker thinks generally, China paper industry still has high pollution, high water consumption problem. Pulp structures in developed countries mainly wood pulp and waste paper pulp, straw pulp and reed pulp accounted for only 3.4%, this ratio in China is 22%. Straw pulp and reed pulp too much, will cause more pollution, water consumption and energy consumption, large use of straw pulppaper mills is small in China paper industry serious pollution of the important reasons. It is reported, wastewater emissions of China's pulp and paper industryand COD (chemical oxygen demand) emissions are currently ranking first in the industry, control of paper industry COD emissions has become the key point of the national industrial COD emission reduction.
